Barbara "Robbie" Hales was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved
to the Bay Area when she was a child. Around the time she entered high school, Robbie began taking art classes, where she remembers working on large scale collaborative paintings. Since then she
has practiced many different mediums, and currently focuses on acrylic and watercolor paintings that feature striking original designs. Her approach is meditative, inspired by her own imagination, nature and foreign cultures. As Robbie puts it, it's like "putting together a puzzle".
